Updates and Community Opportunities 1/31/22

Mayoral Forum Tonight 7-8:30 pm

I pray you are well.  I am encouraging you to participate in the Mayoral Forum this evening from 7 – 8:30 pm on Zoom.  Register Here: https://bit.ly/2022MKEMAYOR. This will take the place of our churchwide chat this evening. We will discuss it and other community opportunities on Wednesday at 6 pm. There is also a second forum on 2/3 (see flyer below).

Reshaping the Church.

Progressive will be participating in a learning opportunity called “Reshaping the Church.” A description of the program, which is about equipping the church for challenging times can be found here. https://www.cbts.edu/reshaping-church/.

Participation is free, once a month, on the third Tuesday of everyone month from 1:00 – 2:15 pm

• March 15, 1:00-2:15
• April 19, 1:00-2:15
• May 17, 1:00-2:15
• June 21, 1:00-2:15

There is also a free book that we will read along the way.

• If we get at least 6 participants, we will have our own Progressive personal coach to craft some Progressive specific discussions.

Community Opportunities.

On Wednesdays at 6 pm, we have been meeting on the zoom line to discuss community opportunities. This is an opportunity to learn about issues and also to look for opportunities to participate in community. Join us this Wednesday to join in the discussion. Issues we’ve discussed so far include:

• Addressing 21st Century Youth Culture
• Housing
• Education
• Mentoring
• Public Health
• Domestic Violence
• Community Organizing
• Mayor’s Race/Forums
• Violence in the City
