Family, I praise God for you and give thanks for the opportunity to serve our community of faith. We truly rejoice and give God all the praise honor and glory for an awesome day of worship on Sunday! We experienced God‘s favor as we gathered to worship for the first time in over a year. The weather was beautiful as the sun shined brightly and gentle breezes surrounded us.
Also, thank you to so many who participated and bringing the event together from Sis. Alma Parker who found a location, the Deacons who set up the platform, our Youth Ministry that passed out the Easter candy, and the team that helped with the audio visual work. I am sure I missed somebody. But mostly we want to thank God for the victory!
Thank you to sister Angie Peterson for the wonderful gift of photography that she shared with us. Enjoy these pictures and go to this link for a video (https://youtu.be/qHjQOwy1w3k).
“The Living Things
Our resurrection message, “the Living Things,” was from Luke chapter 24:1-8. The essence was that, too often in life we spend time focused on what we lost, or what we lack, or what we think we cannot do…the dead things But, in the kingdom of God, we must focus on the living things. We must look for the living things. We must pray about the living things.
“Why do you look for a living among the dead? He is risen.”
This how it is for us sometimes. We proclaim resurrection faith but sometimes we find ourselves looking for and expecting “dead” things. But, I declare to you (and to myself) to look for the living things in this journey called life. We can find ourselves focused on what “is not“ or what “cannot be.“ But, we must look for the living things. Look for new blooms in your life where you have planted good seed. Look for plentiful harvest where you have toiled and labored. If you look for it, you will see it. It’s there. Look for the living things!
