Pastor’s Pen 10/31/20

Progressive family,

I pray you all are well and remaining safe along this journey. I also pray you enjoyed last Sunday’s worship. The entire worship service including the sermon: Conquering Jericho: Fighting, Fearless and Renewed Faith, can be found here on Youtube ( We will be uploading worship videos to the Progressive Baptist Youtube page. If you subscribe to the page, you will be notified when new videos are uploaded.

Tomorrow is the first Sunday in November; we will participate in the sharing of communion at the end of worship. We are reminded of the sacrifice of the Lord in laying down his life for each of us and join with the hearing from him as the disciples did:

And as they were eating, he took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to them, and said, “Take; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, and they all drank of it. And he said to them, “This is my blood of the[a] covenant, which is poured out for many.  Truly, I say to you, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”

In our participation in communion, we join together as an eternal body of Christ celebrating the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Savior.
