Advancing God’s Kingdom (Work in Community)
Project Focal Point – Day of Service 10/30.
On Tuesday, October 30th, Progressive Baptist Church and MATC will partner in a “Day of Service” at Project Focal Point. Project Focal Point, located on 8th and Burleigh, is a ministry focused on serving elderly and youth in the community. I would like volunteers to join me as we help beautify their facility.
Community Canvas 10/20.
On Saturday 10/20, we will canvas the neighborhood around the church to encourage people to vote. The canvas will be from 2-4 pm.
Milwaukee Inner City Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH) 10/25.
MICAH actively involves congregations in issues of social justice in Milwaukee. Current issues include improving racial disparities in MPS, decreasing mass incarceration, public transportation and systemic racism. One of the key principles of “speaking truth to power” is organized people. I would like 10 volunteers to join me at MICAH’s Annual Meeting on Thursday 10/25 as we organize congregations to pursue justice in Milwaukee.
