Family, I pray you are well. We are thankful for the blessing of the day and do not take for granted the tender mercies of the Lord which He provides fresh and new each and every morning to his people.

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

September 11, 2001 Memorial

In the spirit of Lamentations, we mourn along with the rest of the nation in memory of the destruction of the Twin Towers in New York on September 11, 2001 and the loss of nearly 3,000 lives on that day.

We are also mindful of so many other tragic losses of human life including nearly 650,000 lost to COVID over the past 18 months and the many lives lost in our community at the hands of acquaintances, siblings and domestic partners. We pray that the Lord of peace would indeed be a “balm in Gilead.” Please enjoy this song by that same name by Richard Smallwood (https://youtu.be/5GwOrVpudXI)

Masking, Re-Entry and Vaccination

  • Worship. Our first wave of worship participants included members from the Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees, and Associate Ministers who were both masked and provided evidence of being vaccinated. As we plan for our next phase, if you are vaccinated and interested in returning, please fill out this short form (https://forms.gle/zR2k3NYDTFmmAePm8) or contact the church office.
  • Ministry Meetings. Please talk with with your ministry teams if your members are interested in meeting at the church during limited, scheduled hours. I will be in contact with ministry leaders to explore ways for ministries (masked and vaccinated) to meet in the building during limited hours.
  • Vaccination Clinic. We have looked at some tentative dates to hold these first and second dose vaccine clinics which are Friday October 1st, 2021 and Friday October 22nd, 2021. Stay tuned for more information.
